INSTRUCTOR DEVELOPMENT SCHEME

Location:  Ullswater, Lake District

Salary: £24,960 per year, plus benefits.  Permanent contract on successful completion of the scheme.

If you’ve started your career to become an Outdoor Instructor, our Instructor Development Scheme is a brilliant opportunity for you to fast track your training that enables you to develop the skills you need to become an Instructor at Outward Bound.

You'll work on your outdoor qualifications and develop your interpersonal skills. You'll also work as a Duty Instructor, supporting young people during their learning and adventure residential.

Locations:  Ullswater, Lake District and Aberdovey, Snowdonia. 

Salary: £26,618 - £36,085 plus benefits (starting salary is dependent on qualifications and experience).

Our locations - we have easy access to incredible wild places. You’ll deliver learning and adventures via a range of activities such as cutter sailing, gorge and rock scrambling, climbing, expeditions, and a range of water sports.

The variety - no two working weeks are the same. Our instructors are given the autonomy to choose what activities and journeys they want their group to experience to maximise real impact and learning, whilst meeting the required course outcomes. Some weeks you are a group instructor and other weeks supporting the course programme.

Career progression - lots of support with NGBs and wider skill sets.

Varied client base ranging from school and youth groups to working with apprentices. During the summer, we run courses for individuals ranging from one to three weeks.
